Metra delays following accident near Lake Forest
Metra trains are delayed along the Union Pacific North Line after a train hit a pedestrian near Lake Forest.
Metra spokesman Tom Miller said the pedestrian was struck by Union Pacific train 320 at about 7:30 a.m. north of Lake Forest, near Lake Bluff.
The accident caused a shut down of all trains on the track for more than an hour. He said one track was reopened at about 9 a.m.
People who take that train line are urged to check metrarail.com for service advisories regarding potential delays. He said additional trains have been added to ick up customers along the track.
It’s unclear the cause of the crash at this time. Police remain at the scene investigating, authorities said.
