A mention of Kirk would’ve been nice
It certainly would have been a very thoughtful “leadership” quality if the president had taken a few seconds out of his “I did this” and “I’m going to do that” speech, commonly known as the State of the Union address, for a short prayer for our Sen. Mark Kirk as he recovers from a stroke. Bipartisan? These are not red states or blue states, but the United States of America. Maybe if Sen. Kirk were a Democrat he would have been more worthy of a precious few seconds of mention.
In the meantime, Sen. Kirk, you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope also all of those who read this letter.
