Former U of I chief of staff gets teaching job
URBANA, Ill. — The woman who resigned as University of Illinois President Michael Hogan’s chief of staff over anonymous emails sent to faculty has accepted a teaching position at the school.
The News-Gazette in Champaign reports Lisa Troyer will take a job in the Department of Psychology that pays $109,000 a year. Campus spokeswoman Robin Kaler said Troyer should begin teaching this fall.
Troyer was a tenured member of the faculty while working as Hogan’s chief of staff but didn’t teach and was paid only for the latter position. Her salary was $200,850 until she resigned in January.
Troyer has denied writing emails intended to sway faculty members skeptical about a new enrollment management plan favored by Hogan.
But an independent investigation concluded she was likely the author.
