Musical duo Shishonnah to perform in Palatine

St. Paul United Church of Christ in Palatine will host a special St. Patrick's Day musical event featuring Irish artist Liz Madden and U.S. artist Jenne Lennon — both accomplished musicians, performers, and songwriters. Lennon also serves as the choir director for St. Paul UCC.

The concert, “Shishonnah: A St. Patrick's Day Celebration,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, from 7 p.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m., at St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Guest performers will include Roland Labana of Angry Laughter, and Gary White Deer, a Choctaw elder, along with several back-up singers.

The concert will feature a vibrant mix of Celtic, world, classical, and contemporary music. The group will be performing "Dance With The River," and "I Will Carry You," both original songs from Shishonna's newly released album "Elysian Dreams."

The group also will be performing traditional Irish music, and a range of music sure to surprise and delight music fans of all ages.

General admission is $12 for adults and students, and $10 for seniors; there is no admission charge for children 12 and under.

St. Paul UCC is located at 144 East Palatine Road, just west of Northwest Highway (Route 14) in Palatine. A portion of the proceeds will go to St. Paul UCC for support of its missions. (See the St. Paul UCC website at stpaul-ucc.org for additional details, as well as an area map.)

Ample free parking is available in the parking lot on Oak Street, which is just east of the church.

A pre-concert performance ”Paint The Town Green,” will be held at 2 p.m., also on March 17, at Durty Nellie's, located at 180 North Smith St., also in Palatine.
