‘Hearts of Gold’ winners are testament to village

The Arlington Heights Special Events Commission, along with the entire community, on Saturday honored 11 individuals who have stepped forward to make a difference in some form or fashion.

Each Hearts of Gold winner for 2012 is a testament to what makes our country, and especially Arlington Heights, the envy of the world. I want to personally thank all these folks for taking the necessary steps to make our community stronger, more vibrant, and a great place to live.

There is one individual I want to specifically recognize, and that is Russ Talbot. Even as we learn about what Russ has done, there are still many other stories we will never hear about how Russ is always striving to be a difference maker. With that said I would be amiss if I did not recognize his wonderful wife, Theresa, and their two sons, Christian and Martin. I know it is these three who give Russ his foundation, purpose and drive.

Thank you again Mr. Talbot for all you have done, and for all the other things you will continue to do. Congrats and best wishes to a guy with a real heart of gold!
