New principal for Lake Zurich’s Loomis school

Lake Zurich Unit District 95’s board has hired Sandra Kennedy as the new principal for Spencer Loomis Elementary School. Board members voted for Kennedy at a meeting Thursday night. Kennedy is an assistant principal at one of Round Lake Area Unit District 116’s schools. Her dossier includes experience as a fifth-grade teacher at Lake Villa District Elementary District 41. District 95 Superintendent Michael Egan praised Kennedy’s hiring. “Sandy’s knowledge and experience in the areas of literacy instruction ... school improvement planning, professional learning communities and using data to make informed decisions that are in the best interests of students were evident throughout the interview process,” Egan said. Kennedy will start with Spencer Loomis Elementary on July 1.
