Advisory Cultural Commission Public Meeting Scheduled for Saturday, February 11
The City of Naperville's Advisory Cultural Commission will host a public meeting on Saturday, February 11 to provide 2012-2013 Special Events and Cultural Amenities (SECA) fund applicants with an opportunity to speak before the commission regarding their application. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers of the Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.
Following public testimony, the commission will determine a final unified recommendation for each application. The commission recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council for consideration at its annual SECA fund workshop in March. The City Council will formally approve all 2012-2013 SECA fund allocations at a regular City Council meeting in April.
About the SECA Fund
The City of Naperville encourages celebrations of community and cultural opportunities that focus on the heritage, diversity and character of the City. In support of these activities, the City offers funds derived from the Citywide 1 percent food and beverage tax for the purpose of aiding eligible non-profit organizations in providing new and continued cultural experiences. The SECA fund grant began in 2005.
