Barrington man charged with sex crime
A 22-year-old Barrington man was arrested today and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse for a case involving a 15-year-old he met on a social networking site.Adam M. Bopp of the 200 block of West Lincoln Avenue in Barrington met the 15-year-old girl on MySpace in July 2009 and committed the aggravated criminal sexual abuse in July of 2010 and several times after, according to Barrington Police.The incidents took place at his home on west Lincoln Avenue, police said.Bopp is being held overnight and a bond hearing is set for Wednesday.The 15-year-old girl and her family have filed an order of protection prohibiting Bopp from making contact with them. The girl is receiving counseling and assistance, according to police.Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse is punishable by three to seven years in jail and/or a $25,000 fine.
