Program gets grants to send books to book clubs

INDIANAPOLIS — A program that lends books to book clubs across Indiana has received nearly $30,000 in grants to provide access to reading material in underserved areas.

The program called Novel Conversations received a grant for $10,000 from The Glick Fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation. It also has received a $19,200 grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library.

Novel Conversations is a free, statewide lending library with more than 375 titles in its collection. The grants will allow the program sponsored by Indiana Humanities to reach readers in underserved areas of the state, including those without access to libraries.
