Chili for Charity to benefit Elgin area agencies

Submitted by Elgin Knights of Columbus

On Saturday, Feb. 18, St. Thomas More School gym will be filled with the festive atmosphere of several chili chefs, cooking up their signature style of chili, as part of the Elgin Knights of Columbus’ Chili for Charity Cookoff and Dinner.

This is the 14h year for this charity benefit, with the proceeds going to the local Catholic schools of Elgin, as well as Elgin Youth Sports and the Soup Kitchen of Elgin.

The chili judging will begin at 1 p.m., with the dinner to follow beginning at 3:30 p.m. Representatives from the administration of the local Catholic schools, as well as local dignitaries will be serving as the panel of judges.

If you wish to enter a chili in the contest or support the Knights with a donation to this event, visit kofc654.org and click on the “Chili for Charity” link.
