Woodland preparing for kindergarten registration

Woodland Elementary District 50 is gearing up for its annual kindergarten registration.

District 50 will host the registration from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 17 at Woodland Primary School, 17366 W. Gages Lake Road, in an unincorporated area of Lake County known as Gages Lake.

Registering 2012-13 kindergarten students at this time helps District 50 plan ahead and make the appropriate accommodations for all incoming students.

Kindergarten registration packets will be available after Feb. 15 at all Woodland schools and at the Educational Support Center, 1105 N Hunt Club Road in Gurnee, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., prior to registration.

Children who are entering District 50 as kindergartners for the 2012-13 school year must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2012.

Original county-issued birth certificates are required in order to start the registration process. Make arrangements now to have the birth certificate with you at registration.

In addition, two proofs of residency will also be required. Information regarding these requirements is provided in the registration packet.

Be advised that physicals, dental and vision exams do not need to be completed prior to registration.
