Search to resume for Peoria man with Alzheimer's

PEORIA, — The search is set to resume for a 73-year-old Peoria man with Alzheimer's disease who's been missing since Sunday afternoon.

Police called off their search for John Garrett on Monday night but were scheduled to start again Tuesday morning.

Law enforcement agencies, firefighters from across the area and volunteers have been combing the woods and roads near his home.

Police say Garrett left home about 2:30 p.m. Sunday wearing a gray sweater and black corduroy pants. He wasn't wearing a coat.
