Waukegan man arrested on drug charges

A Waukegan man was arrested on drug charges after police discovered 4.2 grams of cocaine and 15 grams of cannabis upon executing a search warrant at his residence this week, authorities said.

Police said Friday that Neal Dzierla, 32, of the 600 block of South Jackson Street, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a park, and unlawful possession of cannabis.

Dzierla was also charged with possession of a handgun without a FOID card. Police said they found a Glock 9 mm handgun at his residence.
