Driver charged in crash that killed soldier with Naperville ties

GEORGETOWN, Texas — Investigators say a driver has been charged in an alcohol-related wreck that claimed the lives of two Fort Hood soldiers, including one who attended Naperville Central High School.

The Williamson County sheriff’s office says Ida Marie Fruster of Killeen was jailed Thursday on two counts of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle. Bond was $60,000.

The Austin American-Statesman reported the one-vehicle accident happened Feb. 4 in Florence. The car went off a curve and hit a tree.

The Department of Public Safety says one passenger, Spc. Joshua Winn of Shreveport, La., was dead at the scene. Another passenger, Spc. Ke’Andre Hall, 24, who attended Naperville Central, died Feb. 15 from his injuries.

Fruster was charged Feb. 17.

According to his Facebook page, Hall joined the Army in September 2009. He attended Grambling State University. On that page, Hall described himself as “laid back.” He wrote that he loved playing ball and writing poetry, and he loved his family “with every ounce of energy I contain.”

A funeral is planned for Saturday in Hanyesville, La.
