Airbus, IG Metall agree on temporary-labor limit at German sites
Airbus SAS reached an agreement with employees at its four factories in Germany that will cap the use of contract workers at 20 percent starting this year, the planemaker said today in an e-mailed statement.
The use of temporary employees will be limited to 15 percent of the workforce as of 2015, with contract workers capped at 5 percent, Airbus said, adding that 300 people from that pool will have the option of taking full-time employment.
Contract workers on board for more than four months will also be granted the same working conditions as full-time employees, the manufacturer said.
