Elk Grove Village launches business smartphone app
Want to know what discounts are being offered at Elk Grove Village businesses or what events are happening in the community?
Now, there’s a app for that.
The village this week launched the “Shop Elk Grove” free smartphone app to help support local retail, hospitality and wholesale businesses.
The app can be downloaded on iPhone or Andriod-powered phones. Users will be able to browse a directory of local businesses and view their special offers.
Participating merchants can list unlimited “perks” such as events, loyalty cards, discounts, and announcements, as well as send push notifications to the customer.
“By encouraging customers to shop locally, Elk Grove Village retains a higher level of economic value and tax revenue,” Mayor Craig Johnson said in a news release. “The vitality of our community in today’s challenging economic climate is greatly enhanced by supporting local merchants.”
The app allows users to shop around for competitively-priced items such as electronics, home remodeling, office furniture, local accommodations and automobile services, and explore new dining venues out of the village’s nearly 100 restaurants.
