Evanston to hold Twitter town hall meeting

Evanston is planning its first town hall meeting on Twitter.

The virtual meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15.

Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl will talk about economic development and other issues before taking pre-submitted and live questions.

Residents can submit their questions at www.twitter.com/CityofEvanston starting Feb. 8.

To participate in the meeting, users should use the Twitter hash tag #askTisdahl when asking a question.

Evanston officials say Twitter has been useful for both distributing and collecting information on everything from blizzards to beach closings.
