Submitted by Dundee Township Republican Central Committee
The Dundee Township Republican Central Committee Inc., in conjunction with the Dundee Township Republican Organization, is hosting its 19th annual Lincoln Award and Dinner Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Milk Pail Restaurant on Route 25 in East Dundee. A social hour will begin at 5 p.m., and the dinner program at 6 p.m.
This year’s Lincoln Award recipients are John P. Fahy and Lee Barrett, in recognition and appreciation for their exemplary service. Congressman Joe Walsh is the keynote speaker.
Fahy served on the county board since 2006. He is active on 10 county board and forest preserve commission boards and has key roles on the county board’s finance committee and negotiation team with the county’s employee unions. As an Elgin fireman, Fahy was recently promoted to the rank of captain, where he now serves.
Barrett served on the Kane County Board from 1998 to 2006, during which he was an advocate for minimizing the tax load for property owners and for balancing the budget by applying good business practices.
Barrett currently serves on the Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission and the Kane County Property Tax Appeals Board.
