Barrington, N. Barrington to renew boundary deal

Barrington and North Barrington have begun discussing renewal of a 32-year-old boundary agreement whose most recent version has expired after 20 years.

North Barrington Village President Al Pino said he doesn’t see much reason to alter the agreement, whose area of greatest concern is a part of unincorporated Lake County along Route 59 just south of Scott Road.

Barrington officials say such an agreement is significant as developers can build much more densely on their side of the boundary due to North Barrington’s reliance on private wells and septic systems instead of a municipal sewer and water supply.
