Chicago Express suffers Royal loss

The Chicago Express suffered its worst defeat in team history, dropping a 9-2 decision at the hands of the Reading Royals on Friday night at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.

Trailing 2-0 early, the Express answered at 5:21 of the first period when Kyle Ostrow fired a shot that deflected off of Reading goalie Mark Owuya’s chest. Joe Cucci was right there to knock in the rebound. Reading added a goal less than a minute later and didn’t look back the rest of the way.

The final Express goal came at 5:04 of the third period when Chad Painchaud fired a slapshot over Owuya’s blocker.
