Why follow Grover Norquist?

I just learned that all 11 Republican U.S. Congressmen from Illinois and its lone Republican Senator signed Grover Norquist’s Taxpayer Protection Pledge. That’s the equivalent of going to work without all the tools you need to complete your job successfully.

By the way, I don’t remember seeing Grover Norquist’s name on any ballot. One nonelected man controlling 236 Representatives and 41 Senators, doesn’t sound like what the Founding Fathers had in mind to me.
