Fetus found in Fort Wayne sewer system

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Fort Wayne police and the Allen County Coroner’s Office are investigating the discovery of a fetus during an inspection of a sewer overflow house.

Police say storm water technicians were inspecting the downtown sewer station when they found the remains.

They say paramedics estimated the development of the fetus at 10 to 25 weeks.

The remains were taken to the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center in Fort Wayne for examination.
