Donate your old cellphone to a soldier
More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas and are away from their families. Cell Phones for Soldiers and Veterans & Family Memorial Care are calling on all Americans to support these brave men and women by donating used cellphones.
Cell Phones for Soldiers has recently honored Veterans & Family Memorial Care providers nationwide with special recognition for having collected tens of thousands of old cellphones which have turned into over a million hours of free talk time for troops overseas. By simply donating your old cellphone at any one of the participating VFMC Provider locations, you will be providing families with a much-needed connection to their loved ones overseas.
Beginning Friday, Jan. 20, through Valentine's Day, Tuesday, Feb. 14, Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory is collecting new or gently used cellphones to be delivered to the Cell Phones for Soldiers organization.
Everyone in the community is invited to help reach the 2012 goal of 2 million free minutes for the service people serving overseas. Support our veterans by donating used cellphones at Countryside Funeral Homes in South Elgin, Streamwood, Bartlett and Roselle. For details, call Donna Lange at (847) 289-8054.
