Batavia's Montessori Academy offers parenting workshop

Submitted by Montessori Academy

Just like your car, your family requires routine maintenance to prevent a breakdown. Everyone needs regular refueling: nutrition, sleep and fun. And when there is a problem, which tools will fix it?

Montessori Academy will host a free parenting workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the school, 595 S. River St., Route 25, Batavia. “Tools for Preventing and Solving Behavior Issues” will feature educator and lecturer Susan Tracy, M.Ed. It's intended for all parents of children ages 3 to 6.

Tracy, director of Learning Together Education, will share the most-requested of her parenting tools in this event for moms, dads and other caregivers. She will offer effective tools for preventing and solving behavior problems that every parent of a young child can encounter.

“This is the fourth session in our free Parenting Workshop series. As a community-based nonprofit, Montessori Academy is pleased to continue offering free educational programs for parents in the community,” said George Markham, executive director at Montessori Academy. “The goal of this workshop is to provide all parents with useful tips and tools for guiding their children.”

Tracy has been educating parents since 1999 when she founded Learning Together Education as a local outreach to parents. She received a degree in psychology from Northwestern University and a master's degree in education from Loyola College in Maryland.
