35-year-old charged with dealing Ecstasy, cocaine
A 35-year-old Elgin woman has been charged with dealing cocaine and Ecstasy after police searched her home over the weekend on the city’s northwest side.
Natacha Acevedo of the 0-99 block of Lockman Circle has been charged with manufacture/delivery of cocaine and Ecstasy, according to police. Both Class X felonies carry 6- to 30-year sentences if convicted.
Acevedo also is charged with possession of marijuana.
Elgin Police spokeswoman Sue Olafson said police executed a search warrant at Acevedo’s residence at about 8 p.m. Friday and seized 16 grams of cocaine, 20 Ecstasy pills and 16 grams of marijuana.
“We had received several citizen complaints regarding drugs in that area. We followed up and executed a search warrant,” Olafson said.
Bond information for Acevedo was not immediately available. She is due in Kane County Court Wednesday.
According to court records, Acevedo’s only prior offenses in Kane County were for minor traffic violations.
