Old World Wisconsin is getting a new director
EAGLE, Wis. — Old World Wisconsin in southeastern Wisconsin is getting a new director.
Daniel Freas will begin his new position next Monday.
The previous director, Dawn St. George, became the assistant administrator of the Division of Museums and Historic Sites in Madison this summer.
Freas comes from Indiana, where he worked as vice president of guest experiences for Conner Prairie Interactive History Park in Indianapolis.
Freas will oversee a full-time staff of 15 and a large seasonal staff of interpreters and volunteers.
Nearly 59,000 people visited the site last year.
Old World Wisconsin comprises more than 65 historic buildings relocated from around the state and represents the material and cultural history of nearly a dozen ethnic groups.
