Bus driver accused of having sex with student
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A South Bend school bus driver accused of having sex with a high school student has been charged with two counts of child seduction.
Thirty-two-year-old Monisha Simpson’s initial court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 22. She was being held Thursday at the St. Joseph County Jail on a $2,000 bond. It was not immediately known if she had an attorney.
She is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student she met while driving a school bus. According to a probable cause affidavit, Simpson picked the 16-year-old up at school and he spent time at her home with her children.
The teenager told authorities he was 18. The South Bend Tribune reports that under Indiana law, a school employee cannot have sex with a student under their supervision.
