Firefighters thank State Rep. Morrison for support

State Rep. Tom Morrison attended the Rolling Meadows City Council meeting this week to thank former Mayor Ken Nelson for his service, but wound up being thanked himself.

Rolling Meadows Fire Chief Ronald Stewart presented a plaque of appreciation to Morrison on Tuesday for his support of disaster preparedness for the city and other fire agencies around the state.

The plaque was on behalf of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System, which includes 68 divisions, nearly 1,100 fire agencies and 38,000 firefighter EMTs who share resources statewide when one city or village is stricken by a particular disaster.

“Rep. Morrison has effectively opened the door for real partnerships in disaster response with our colleagues from the state of Illinois,” Stewart said.
