Mundelein school hosts annual senior breakfast
Carl Sandburg Middle School continued its long-standing tradition of hosting the senior citizen breakfast.
The school's student council sponsors this event, which is designed to thank and inform the senior citizens in the Mundelein Elementary District 75 community.
The event begins with a breakfast served by student council members, followed by a request for volunteers to help support student learning and a tour of the Sandburg facility.
The Sandburg Student Council has hosted this event for at least 11 years.
This year's senior breakfast featured a visit from the members of Mundelein Veterans of Foreign War. The student council and Sandburg Band honored the veterans by performing several Armed Forces musical pieces.
