Route 21 work resumes in Libertyville

Tree removal along the west side of Milwaukee Avenue between Casey Road and Route 137 will continue for two to three weeks as part of an upcoming road widening and intersection improvement. Intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on work days are expected. Advance work on the east side of Milwaukee began last fall. The latest contract, for $23 million, involves tree removal and temporary pavement on the west side as the widening and reconstruction of Milwaukee Avenue from just south of Route 120 to just south of Route 137 and the reconstruction of the Milwaukee/Route 137 intersection. Construction updates and news regarding the project are available at www.libertyville.com/idotproject.
