Emanuel finishes Chicago Triathlon
Chicago’s mayor is among the successful finishers of the Chicago Triathlon.
That’s despite Sunday’s rough waters on Lake Michigan and an ankle injury earlier this year.
Around 10,000 people were expected to participate in the event. The National Weather Service had issued some choppy water warnings on Sunday for boaters and swimmers. Triathlon officials say no injuries were reported.
Rahm Emanuel finished the race in 1:36 on Sunday.
Emanuel has been an avid swimmer and biker but had said running was his weakness. Earlier in the summer he injured his ankle while running. He said he hit the sidewalk wrong while running.
