There are other ways to get ice cream

This is a warning to Elk Grove Village residents. I live on Basswood Drive. Three times now, my 10-year-old daughter hears the calling of the ice cream vendor and frantically grabs her money and heads out to the curb to buy a tasty summer treat.

To her and the other children’s horror, this ignoramus passes by, blatantly ignoring the residential speed limit, causing the children to run into the street to try to catch the truck-o-treats — only to watch as it fades into the sunset, its driver oblivious to the wrath of disappointment in his wake.

Do everyone a favor and keep yourself and your so-called business out of my neighborhood. We’ll get our ice cream the old fashioned way ... we’ll CHURRRRN it!
