News analyst Cokie Roberts to speak at U of I

CHAMPAIGN — ABC News and National Public Radio news analyst Cokie Roberts will deliver the address at both spring commencement ceremonies at the University of Illinois’ Urbana-Champaign campus.

The university says the graduation ceremonies will be May 13 at the Assembly Hall on campus.

Roberts is longtime reporter and news broadcaster. She’s a member of the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame.

In a news release, the university says Roberts and her husband Steve Roberts also write a syndicated news column.

She is also the author of several best-selling books, including “We Are Our Mothers’ Daughters” and “Ladies of Liberty.”
