Biden visit backing up afternoon traffic

Vice President Joe Biden is in Chicago for several fundraisers Thursday afternoon, which could tie up the expressways and downtown area, causing headaches for the afternoon commute.

The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications issued a traffic advisory on Thursday encouraging the public to expect delays on Lake Shore Drive and the expressway systems during the evening rush hour.

Biden is expected at private fundraisers in Chicago at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. after starting his day in Milwaukee before traveling to Chicago.

The Blackhawks are also playing the St. Louis Blues at the United Center for a 7:30 p.m. game, causing additional traffic in that area as well.
