Tea party is here to stay

I am looking forward to the 112th United States Congress correcting the excesses of its predecessor. The extreme leftist policies of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid increased the debt and deficit of our government and stymied the economic recovery of our country. The American people spoke loudly and clearly in the past election that we were on the wrong track.

I am encouraged that President Obama recognized the new political reality, retreated on some of his positions, and acknowledged the new mandate for fiscal accountability.

Thanks to the tea party supporters across the country, the political dictum that “all politics is local” has been changed forever. The body politic is now being driven by momentum at the grass roots level to rein in excessive government spending. This is change that we can believe in: the tea party is here to stay.
