Keystone proposal will be back
Cynicism abounds. President Obama delayed final resolution of the Keystone XL pipeline till at least 2013. The environmental community hailed the decision as a major victory to the detriment of job creation, economic growth and putting the U.S. a step closer to reducing our energy dependence on the Middle East.
Mind you, the president did not unequivocally say that the pipeline project would never be built during a second term of his administration. All Obama said, for political expediency, is he would make a final decision in 2013, if re-elected.
Does anyone doubt that if President Obama gains a second term that he will find that it will be in the best interest of the United States to proceed with the building of Keystone? Right now Obama’s re-election, with the help of his environmental base, is the sole focus. Does the environmental community think this project is really dead?
Anyone want to place a wager on this?
