A prepared statement from the sheriff's department indicated that a disagreement between the men and the victim over the treatment of another relative turned violent. Mendez-Romulo, Romulo and Jimenez who reside in the 400 block of Hoover, according to court records admitted to beating the victim with their fists, feet and a concrete block, police said. The victim later told police he did not recall who started the fight.
