N. Ind. roads reopen after snow-related crashes

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — State police say all lanes of three northern Indiana highways have reopened following crashes that occurred as lake-effect snow swirled across the area.

One northbound lane of Interstate 65 had been closed in White County north of Lafayette following a Wednesday morning crash in which a semitrailer went out of control and crossed the median, striking an SUV head-on and causing injuries.

State police reopened that lane early Wednesday afternoon.

Further north, sections of the Indiana Toll Road and Intersate-94 have also reopened in Porter and LaPorte counties following other accidents. The Toll Road's westbound lanes had been closed at Portage after a semi rolled over. And westbound I-94 was closed after several semis jack-knifed and other vehicles crashed.
