Let’s temper the rosy look at Obama
In response to the opinion piece by Donna Brazile the Daily Herald published Jan. 11 claiming Obama is fixing things, I must retort with my own tally of Obama’s performance.
Ÿ Gas was $1.87 when Bush left office; now its $3.60.
Ÿ The Solyndra scandal and hundreds of millions of tax payer money lost.
Ÿ A failed bailout as his economic policy, hundreds of billions wasted.
Ÿ Largest debt in US history.
Ÿ Unemployment at or near 9 percent his entire presidency.
Ÿ Housing market depressed his entire presidency.
Ÿ Freezing 280,000 deportations of illegal aliens due to the election year.
Ÿ Gutting defense by another $500 billion, reducing forces instead of building them while at war.
Ÿ Leaving Iraq too early, and sowing the seeds of collapse, planning to leave Afghanistan too early.
Ÿ Promising a bipartisan effort in health care, promising to put cameras in the proceedings and then proving both promises a lie.
Ÿ Constantly apologizing to the world for America defending itself, its allies and its interests.
Ÿ Failure to cut wasteful social spending that is bankrupting our country.
Ÿ Ignoring and marginalizing Christianity every chance he gets.
Ÿ Ten million more people living in poverty.
We are not better then we were four years ago, and this year I am voting for someone new.
