Lake Marie purchase approved:

The purchase of two properties that will form a new forest preserve at Lake Marie near Antioch was unanimously approved Tuesday by the Lake County Forest Preserve District. The parcels total 227 acres west of Route 59 and north of West Beach Grove Road and include a camp ground that has been in operation for generations and 85 boat slips. The purchase price was more than $7.4 million. Several campers addressed the board regarding the pending loss of what for some has been a lifetime of memories. The camp will operate this year and close for good Sept. 30. A real estate closing is expected this fall.
