Bulls’ Butler: I just need a new right foot

Jimmy Butler was back on the practice floor the past two days and plans to play against Brooklyn on Wednesday.

But he doesn’t seem completely happy with the status of his two injuries. He missed 11 games with a turf-toe injury on his right foot, then skipped the last two with a sprained right ankle.

“I just need a new right foot, to tell you the truth. I think this one’s all used up,” Butler said Tuesday at the Berto Center. “I’m all right — turf toe, little ankle problem. Nothing I can’t handle, I guess.”

Butler probably was half-joking about his right foot. He doesn’t expect to be completely healthy, even if he’s well enough to play in games.

“I think I’m well enough to go out there and compete,” he said. “(The turf toe) bothers me a little bit, but I felt like it’s going to bother me like that for the rest of my career now.”

The rest of the Bulls’ injury report remains unchanged. Kirk Hinrich (sore back) is planning to return against Brooklyn, while Luol Deng (sore left Achilles) still has not practiced and seems unlikely to play Wednesday.

“I feel once everybody starts getting back into a rhythm and getting back to playing with each other, we’re going to be a force to reckon with,” Butler added. “Until then, we’ve just got to try to pull out as many wins as possible.”
