Naperville man shot in Aurora
A 25-year-old Naperville man was shot in the upper abdomen Wednesday, apparently while he was talking to someone who was inside an older-model car on Aurora's East side, authorities said.
Police said the victim was transported to an Aurora-area hospital where his condition was stabilized and he is expected to survive.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was talking to someone inside a battered green Oldsmobile about 5 p.m. near the intersection of Hill and North when one shot was fired from inside the car. The vehicle was last scene heading south from the scene.
The victim walked a short distance before collapsing, police said.
Authorities said they have not yet developed a firm motive for the shooting, but believe it may have been gang-related.
