Minor injuries in Mundelein car versus pedestrian crash

A woman suffered minor injuries after being hit by a car Tuesday night near the intersection of Route 45 and Route 60 in Mundelein, police said.

Police responded to the accident around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, said Cmdr. Fred Kliora.

The pedestrian was crossing Route 45 eastbound near the entrance to the Garden Fresh shopping center parking lot when she was hit by a man driving south.

The woman was conscious and transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police said both parties were cited in the crash. The woman was cited for not crossing at a crosswalk and the driver was cited for violating a restriction on his license against driving at night.

Kliora said there was a similar crash at the same location a few months ago but with much worse injuries.
