Get facts on Obama’s Gettysburg reading
After hearing all the GOP outrage regarding President Obama’s omission of “Under God” from his reading of the Gettysburg Address for a documentary by Ken Burns, I figured that the readers and letter writers would soon be penning their own misinformed letters. But the actual truth is that there were five manuscripts, and Mr. Burns asked the president to read the “Nicolay” draft, which was the first version. Guess the shock and awe from this reading is again another thing to bad-mouth the president about. Except they don’t even know their history or seem to care about the truth.
