Fence Post is people's soap box
The Fence Post has been the people's soap box. This is no longer true when a post includes a title and the name of a utility company, lobbying organization or corporation. Obviously, representatives of these organizations include their affiliation information in an attempt to weight the view(s) they express and the editorial staff, inadvertently, amplifies this weight by publishing such bylines.
Organizations have the opportunity to issue news releases in order to disseminate information they want the public to hear. It should not take up space in the people's soap box section. If news releases are not desirable, let them budget to buy advertising space in order to express their corporate positions.
