NW Festival Orchestra a great local asset

Thanks to James Kane's article in the Saturday Herald, I attended the Sunday concert of the Northwest Festival Orchestra presented at the Forest View Auditorium in Arlington Heights.

The concert was wonderful with talented young musicians making up the orchestra and a graduate student from Northwestern as piano soloist. This was accomplished at a very keen level of musicianship and execution.

What was disappointing about the concert was the lack of attendance! Here you have a wonderful community asset and so few come out to show their support what a shame!

As cited by the American Symphony Orchestra League, image is a factor in a city's economic success; cities depend in part on how residents and outsiders perceive their livability.

The benefit of an orchestra reaches beyond the audience hearing the concert; it benefits and enriches the community as a whole. The Northwest Festival Orchestra certainly enhanced the image of Arlington Heights on Sunday.

It is a treasure that should be supported by the communities that comprise our Northwest suburban region!
