Kirk and Kramer Park to be closed Oct. 10
On Monday, Oct. 10, Kirk and Kramer Park will be closed from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accommodate shoreline stabilization work to be done on Poplar Creek.
Residents will not be able to use the park, or the two bridges that lead to it, during these hours.
The shoreline stabilization work on Poplar Creek is a coordinated effort between the City of Elgin, Hanover Township, Isaak Walton League-Elgin Chapter, Army Corp of Engineers, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the North Cook County Soil and Water Conservation District to stabilize 105 linear feet of shoreline that has been undergoing a significant amount of stream erosion.
