Police probe shooting death in Belleville

BELLEVILLE — An autopsy is scheduled for a man who police say was shot to death in southwestern Illinois’ Belleville.

Belleville police Lt. Matt Eiskant says 53-year-old John Fath died Saturday night at a St. Louis hospital shortly after being shot in his home.

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is investigating.

There was no word Monday on any arrests or charges.
