Health care town hall aimed at Chicago artists
The city of Chicago is holding a town hall event for artists who are interested in finding out about health insurance options available to them under President Barack Obama’s health care law.
The city cultural department’s Cindy Gatziolis says 50 trained enrollment counselors will be working at the event Monday. They’ll be helping people sign up for insurance on the federal HealthCare.gov website. She says response from Chicago artists has been good and there’s a waiting list for sessions with the enrollment counselors.
The Chicago Department of Public Health will be giving free flu shots. And there will be two presentations on the Affordable Care Act. The event will start at 4 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center.
