Vandals chop down 40-foot tree in Arlington Heights park

Arlington Heights police say someone chopped down a 40-foot red cedar tree valued at $3,500 located within the Arlington Heights Park District’s Heritage Park, 506 W. Victoria Lane.

The tree, which was left atop a sledding hill in the park, was cut down sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 and noon Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Anyone with information about the incident can submit an anonymous text tip by texting the keyword 847AHPD and your message to 847411 (tip411) or call Arlington Heights Crime Stoppers at (847) 590-STOP. Callers are guaranteed anonymity and may qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
